The Open Word New Testament
Building off the work done on our Epistles for Kids project, we
want to adapt our easy English translation for adults.
​
All over the world, local churches are becoming increasingly multi-cultural. More and more, people worship in a language that isn’t their first. Yet the 'pew Bible' they hold in their hands often feels inaccessible—dense, difficult, and discouraging for migrant believers.
​
We need a new approach: simple, clear, and rich language that meets people where they are. Neither childish nor plain, but a fresh way of speaking that carries the depth of Scripture in a way that welcomes rather than intimidates.

The design of our pew Bibles shouldn’t be a barrier. Let’s open it up for all.
Incorporating the illustration principles of Space and Colour from the Epistles for Kids project, we’ll shape a Bible that is visually inviting, easily understood, and digitally accessible.
Our vision is that this simple style will be ripe for translation into other languages, so that migrant believers all over the world can fellowship more quickly with the congregations they are joining in their new home countries.
